The Texas Catfishing Resource was founded with the intention of promoting the sport of catfishing in Texas and giving Texas Catfish Anglers a forum to discuss fishing for catfish in Texas Lakes and exchanging information, and to help provide information in regards to the sport of catfishing. Whether your a novice catfish angler or a seasoned angler with years of experience and success catching catfish we have a place for you on the Texas Catfish Message Board at WhiskerKitty.com
Texas is known for exceptional fishing for all species of fish with our numerous fertile lakes, rivers and reservoirs and most of these Texas water bodies hold our species of choice, THE CATFISH. Whether your wanting to learn to catch more "pan sized" Channel Catfish, or wanting to learn to catch the sought after Blue Catfish (also commonly called a HIgh Fin Catfish) or Monster Blue Catfish and Flathead Catfish, whether your a setline angler that enjoys fishing with Juglines, Fishing Jugs, Limb Lines, Trotlines, Throwlines or Bank Lines or a god ol' fashioned rod and reel fisherman we have the information your seeking here at the Texas Catfishing Resource and best of all, IT'S FREE!
The Texas Catfishing Resource is also an advocate and supporter of catch and release practices for big catfish. It is our belief as an organization that blue catfish and flathead catfish that are 10 Lbs and larger should always be released back into the waters in which they were caught. These big "trophy" catfish are genetically superior fish that effectively spawn each year and keep the Texas lakes populated with catfish, not to mention if you keep that one big catfish today that weighs ten pounds or more, that is one less "trophy" Texas Catfish that will be swimming in the waters to catch later on, so please remeber to CPR (Catch - Photograph - Release) all catfish over 10 Lbs.
